UFC president Dana White announced the entire June 13 card on Thursday on ESPN.
The middleweights were supposed to fight on April 25, but the card was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was rebooked for May 13 in Jacksonville, Florida, but complications from a bad weight cut forced Roberson to withdraw the night before the fight.
Vettori confronted him in the lobby of the host hotel the following day and security intervened before it escalated. Both are on two-fight winning streaks.
“There are a lot of fights when guys talk smack, and then there’s heat … and then the fight sucks,” White said. “That will not be the case with this fight.
“Vettori is so fun to watch fight. This guy goes for it. He goes for the finish in every fight, and Karl Roberson is the same way. This is a fight that has potential for Fight of the Night or Performance of the Night.”
Eye is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Viviane Araujo at UFC 245 in December. It was her first fight since challenging champion Valentina Shevchenko and losing via second-round KO on June 8, 2019. Eye, who is ESPN’s No. 8-ranked women’s flyweight, has won four of her past five fights.
Calvillo returns after fighting to a majority draw with Marina Rodriguez in December. That was fought at a catchweight after Calvillo missed the contracted strawweight limit.
Here is the June 13 lineup:
Jessica Eye vs. Cynthia Calvillo (flyweight)
Karl Roberson vs. Marvin Vettori (middleweight)
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Ray Borg (bantamweight)
